It is a station immortalised in a song by ska band and local icons Madness, with the line 'In Camden Town, I'll meet you by the Underground'.

Today, however, Suggs would be hard-pushed to find his loved one at Camden Town Tube station thanks to throngs of travellers crammed into an inefficient space. 

In fact, Camden Town station has seen a 60% increase in users over the past decade, which has prompted a new injection of cash from London's mayor to modernise and battle commuter congestion.

A fund of £120 million has been earmarked for improvements at Camden Town station, with suggestions of a second entrance, three new escalators, two lifts and more space to change trains. 

Included in the report are predictions that Camden Town's popularity is set to soar, with Tube station passengers continually increasing right up until 2031.

Camden Town residents and those thinking of moving to the area will no doubt be delighted with the plans.
