Central heating? Double glazing? Inside toilet? These used to be the essential features when looking for a new property but today's home movers are more likely to enquire about the broadband speed supplied to a property than they are the internal facilities.

In fact, Rightmove said research it conducted among 3,000 people found that broadband details were ranked as a more important feature when searching for property than information on transport links and nearby schools.

The property portal also claimed slow broadband speeds can wipe as much as 20% off the value of properties.

If you're buying or selling in North West London there is good news - Kentish Town has been declared as having the fastest broadband speeds in the whole of London.

NW5 receives average download speeds of 35Mb compared to Clerkenwell (5.7Mb), Soho (9Mb), the City (10.3Mb) Islington (26Mb) and Kings Cross (25.5Mb).
